Style: Spring 2015 Color Trends

5 Colors for Spring
The spring season means shedding your winter wardrobe and opting to add some fun colors rather than layers.  This season, be on the look out for softer color choices in cooler hues.  Color trends this season are all about minimalism and looking to nature for inspiration on color and how to pair them.

Color Trends

Aquamarine

AquamarineMany shades of blue, from classic blue to scuba blue, are right on trend for this spring season.  Aquamarine stands out because it is cool and calming and can be worn by anyone.  Plus, blues can act as a stress reliever, so why not surround yourself? This great blue shade is already being seen in designs for spring fashions.  Pair aquamarine with both Glacier Gray and Marsala for winning combinations.

Strawberry Ice

Strawberry IceDon't let the name fool you!  This color can be worn by anyone for any occasion; this pink hue is flattering!  The name says it all, refreshing strawberry and cooling ice blend together to create a warm and subtle color perfect for those beautiful spring days.  Pair Strawberry Ice with the boldness of browns, like Toasted Almond, or for a more classic look wear alongside Marsala.

Glacier Gray

Glacier GrayWhile you might expect to stay away from gray tones in the spring, especially after a harsh winter, that is exactly what this gray doesn't want you to do.  It is not the typical storm cloud or winter gray, it has a lighter hue and tends to glow.  This neutral color is perfect for being the base of any color combination.  It allows other colors to pop and creates contrast.  If anything, this gray helps enhance the beauty in other colors.  Pair with Treetop or Aquamarine hues.

Treetop Green

Treetop GreenThis green gets it's name from the beauty in nature and lush forests.  Greens are known to be prosperous and breathe new life.  This hue lines up perfectly with all the great shades of green popping back up in nature.  Treetop can work well as its own statement piece, try colored chino's for inspiration.  It can also be the perfect background to highlight other great hues and create more contrast and play with them.  Try wearing Treetop with Glacier Gray and Strawberry Ice for unique combinations and inspiration.

Marsala

Marsala: Color of The YearAny spring color trend isn't complete with out Pantone Color of the Year: Marsala.  This color gets it's name from wine and has hints of earthy browns and bold reds.  It is hearty and stylish and you can find this color in more than just clothing.  Marsala was described by Pantone as a "subtly seductive shade."  Just like Treetop, this color can be worn on its own as a statement or it pairs nicely with almost every other color.  Flattering against many skin tones, its no wonder this hue is the color of the year.  Wear it with Sandstone or Glacier Gray for a new take on great color combinations.

Closing Color Thoughts

Keep your eyes out for these great colors and more.  Use nature as an inspiration on how to pair different hues and colors together.  Remember that these colors aren't just for clothing.  You will find accessories, furniture and kitchen gadgets being shown off in these hues.  Experiment with combinations and what looks best with your style.  Don't forget to have fun with color!
